Fear is an emotional response to a threat. Anxiety is fear or worry in anticipation of a threat. Depression has been described as "anger turned inward." Anxiety and depression are common for many during different times in our lives. Working through our fears & depression propels us to rise & truly live.
Distress after being exposed to, living or witnessing a traumatic or stressful event is common. Whether it is due to a random event, an act of nature, a deliberate or accidental event, patterns or experiences of abuse or such, trauma can alter our feelings, thoughts, reactions & behaviors. Working on our traumas opens the door to healing & life changes.
We are ALL in relationship with ourselves, others and our world. Whether our difficulties are related to communication, co-dependency, sex, intimacy or our beliefs & expectations, we all aspire to have healthy relationships.
Parenting, trauma, grief, loss, health-related concerns, illness, death, financial concerns, employment issues, family issues & relationship issues may affect us at any time. How we cope and handle life events and the beliefs we hold about ourselves and our lives can mold our next step and our outcomes.
Addiction is a maladaptive pattern of behavior, done despite negative consequences to ourselves or others, that leads to significant impairment or distress. Whether substance (i.e. alcohol, drugs) or behavior-related (i.e. work, internet, video-games, shopping ,sex, gambling), addiction affects the like of "addict" & the lives of all that love them.
Our body pays attention & keeps score. Unresolved issues, feelings and trauma can promote dis-ease. Addressing & working through our feelings promotes a healthy life & healing.
